Summary
We installed both a 3’ crawl space and a 9’ full basement for an addition to a home in Denver. This 3’ crawl space stepped down to a full 9’ basement, and the panels connected to a 75-year-old foundation (built in 1946). In total there was 48 LF of the crawl space, and 64 LF of the full basement.
The foundation for the project was installed in the morning, while it was snowing. By the afternoon, the entire foundation was waterproofed and sealed entirely. It was fully insulated, each panel contains R-16.5 insulation, with a double top plate, and the foundation was square and level.
In this installation, we show how to do a step foundation with our system, connect to an existing foundation (75 years old), and complete the install while it was cold and snowing, illustrating how the system is not weather dependent and affected by the cold. Had this been concrete, extra costs would have been incurred for concrete heaters and blankets. Or, it would have had to have been rescheduled.
